Cerec

Cerec is a computer generated technique that allows the dentist to custom mills crowns, inlays and onlays in the office—all in one visit!!  The tooth is “prepped” and an intraoral picture is taken.  This image (data) is read by the computer, creating a 3D image.  The restoration is created and contoured on the screen by the dentist.  This data is sent to milling unit, creating your custom crown, onlay or inlay.  The milling process consists of a diamond coated instrument that mills a ceramic block—the crown, inlay or onlay).  After the milling is finished, a few final adjustments are made and the crown/inlay/onlay is seated.  With a little polishing, you are set to go.  And, you can watch the whole procedure as it is being done!!!
