Staying in the forefront of dentistry and growing your practice means learning all that you can about implants, implant restoration, and implantology in general. At University Associate in Dentistry/Dental Implant Institute of Chicago, you can learn and study with the leaders in the field...

Dr Baer and Dr Marcus, both formerly from the University of Chicago, have worked and taught together for over 25 years. Dr Baer, a forerunner in implantology, has lecture worldwide. In 2010 and 2011, the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) invited Dr Baer to lecture on implantology at its annual meeting. Both Dr Baer and Dr Marcus have trained with Dr Paolo Malo, DDS, world renowned implantologist and pioneer of the Nobel Biocare All on 4. UAD's associate, Dr Hallas, assists Dr Baer, as well as oversees and leads the Downtown Implant Alliance Study Club. Dr Hallas also teaches implantology at the University of Illinois (Chicago Campus).

Advanced Dental Implant Seminar

UAD/DIIC's years of experience in placing implants comes from participating in numerous implant studies, including Nobel Biocare, Astra and Zimmer, and from following their own patients over time.

Chicago Dental Implant Mentor Program

UAD/DIIC offers more than just a training seminar, as the ability to continue to learn and be mentored is of the utmost importance to us. Our seminars include:

  • Hands on practice - that integrates the theory
  • Watching "live surgery" - enforcing the comfort level and ease in implant procedures
  • Restoration - how to place interim and final prosthetics
  • Build your confidence - in creating aesthetically pleasing results
  • Networking and building relationships - with our team and clinic and with your peers

Ongoing support is available to all participants. There are many levels of support.  UAD/DIIC offers:

  • CT Scans - your patient can get their scan done at our clinic and will be provided a disk for your review
  • Treatment Planning - is available and encouraged. We will review a case with you, help you put together a tx plan and discuss any concerns you may have
  • Mentoring - It's natural to wonder if you are doing it correctly - is the angle right, is the implant placed deep enough. Our one on one helps you integrate your skills and feel at ease.  Bring your first few patients to our clinic.  You will gain confidence with us by your side
  • Observing - we welcome you to visit our clinic to observe various procedures, again helping you gain comfort and confidence

Take the next step now. When you take pride in your work and want to be the best you can be, learning through the programs offered at UAD/DIIC can help you achieve that goal.

Read some of the comments from previous seminars:

Dear Dr Baer,
Thank you again for the great course. It was a pleasure meeting you and your staff. They manner in which the course was presented has me wanting to learn more. Please forward me any further courses that you are offering as welll as information on the study club. Thank you again.       Vincent Biank, DDS

Best value of any course I've taken, thanks!      W Steckbauer, DDS

Very friendly, non-threatening presentation and staff.  I’m leaving feeling excited about a new aspect of dentistry.

I  just completed my 35th implant placement on a 94 year old woman. Yes, 94!! Two lower implants with locator attachments using her old denture. She was absolutely elated. I am writing  you once again to reiterate my gratitude for your  phone and study club mentoring and your selfless  giving of your time, as I learned some of the finer details that only actually placing implants can teach. Russ, if you ever need a testimonial for  your course, you are welcome to quote me. I'll have them thinking you walk on water!

In addition, I thought that your "conversational"  lecture style was enjoyable and you answered all questions, not matter how basic or off-base, thoroughly and non-derogatory.

My particular interest in the course was to view and be part of the actual "nuts and bolts" clinical placement of an implant. I have taken numerous implant courses but have been hesitant to do the surgical aspect. Viewing the "over the shoulder" placement and knowing that on-going support is available from you has given me the confidence to go forward.

Lastly, since I am a lifelong Blackhawks fan, so talking to you about hockey and the team made it even better. Attached are a couple of photographs from last spring when my staff and I wore our Blackhawk jerseys at the office during the Stanley Cup finals

Anyway, thanks again.
Patrick Cross, DDS

Dear Dr Baer/Hallas,

Thank you for allowing me to shadow in your office.  I am so grateful to you and all of the UAD Team for sharing techniques and for your spirit of teaching.  I am so inspired by you and the work that you do.  As a general dentist, I have been told many times that I should not venture into the surgical world of implants.  Until I took your class, I did not have a mentor to encourage me to try.  You obviously love what you do and I thank you for passing that passion to others like me.

Thank you again... Courtney Villari, DDS

I just wanted to let you know that your implant seminar was great. It exceeded my expectations. I liked that you provided a good mixture of scientific rational and real-world clinical perspective. From a practical point of view, it was nice that the lecture followed the manual so note taking was simplified.   M Dani, DDS

This course was a great refresher for things I had forgotten and new information I was unaware of.  Hands-on really appreciated to understand protocol for drilling and feeling with drill.      M Miller-Rinaldi, DDS

Fantastic! I would highly recommend to my colleagues in general practice to take this course.C Farin, DDS
