The Sonicare requires normal brushing motion, while the Oral B is moved over the teeth, doing the "brushing" for you. Oral B tooth brushes tend to be more effective for patients with heavy plaque accumulations or for those that build up tartar quickly. Both have a mode for sensitive teeth.
